Your challenge is to build a user-facing application that connects to an autonomous agent via a provided API endpoint. The agent supports HTTP streaming responses and acts as a multiserver MCP client, capable of connecting to any MCP server that exposes tools via SSE transport. Your app should consume the stream, parse the chunks of data in real time, and provide a smooth interface for interacting with the agent. Bonus points for teams that also implement a simple MCP server exposing tools.
Prizes:
WSS wants to better understand and serve their customers—whether they're online, in-store, or on social media. Your mission is to build a prototype that helps WSS gather insights from customer feedback across different channels or predict future product trends using AI modeling. You can approach this challenge from one of these angles: Voice of the Customer (design a dashboard that pulls customer sentiment from sources like social media, surveys, or reviews), Trend Prediction (use AI to analyze product data, social buzz, or mock purchase histories to forecast popular items or styles), or Retail Intelligence (create a tool that helps WSS spot and respond to shifts in consumer behavior or economic pressures).

The 2025 Hackathon is open to all students, faculty, and staff in the Los Angeles Community College District. Whether you're a beginner or have prior coding experience, this event is designed to be inclusive and educational for everyone.
The registration portal is open!
No prior coding experience is required! We welcome beginners and will have workshops and mentors available to help you learn and build your project. If you're new to coding, we'll make sure you're paired with experienced team members.
Participants should bring their laptop, charger, and any other devices or equipment they might need for development. We'll provide food, drinks, and a comfortable workspace for the duration of the event.
Teams can be formed before the event or during our team formation session at the beginning of the hackathon. Teams should consist of 2-4 members. If you don't have a team, don't worry! We'll help you find one that matches your interests and skills.
We'll be awarding hundreds of dollars in cash prizes for winning projects across multiple categories. There will also be special recognition for innovation, technical achievement, social impact, and design excellence.
The hackathon theme will be announced at the opening ceremony. The theme provides a general direction but doesn't limit your creativity. You're welcome to interpret it in innovative ways for your project.
